It matches to your JSU course
A strong match starts from the catalog, not from a list of available clinicians. JSU's 2026-27 catalog sets the hours and focus of each course: FNP 7869 opens the family track with 120 hours in spring, FNP 7877 spans pediatric, adult, obstetric and geriatric populations, and the AGACNP practicums follow patients from late adolescence into old age in acute care settings.
A service should also work from current course numbers. The graduate handbook JSU posts is dated 2024-25, keeps the retired three-digit course numbers and shows lower hours for two of the later practicums, so a service reading only that handbook can misjudge what your course needs. It follows JSU's order of steps
JSU has a sequence, and the best service works inside it. Your CastleBranch record has to be complete, since missing items can block registration, and the malpractice policy you purchase from JSU's School of Nursing has to show as cleared in CastleBranch before you, or anyone acting for you, reaches out to a clinical site.
Timing inside the semester matters too. NP practicums are taken alongside paired lecture courses, and failing either one means retaking both, so a preceptor whose schedule falls short of the course hours puts more than one course at risk. It hands JSU a complete file
JSU's faculty decide on every preceptor and site. A good service makes their review easy by sending a complete, accurate package the first time instead of a bare name. Missing details slow a review, and a slow review can eat into the weeks a practicum needs.

It plans for the full DNP residency
The DNP residency is the longest placement in any JSU program. JSU's timeline wants one steady preceptor and site for 16 months, through all three residency courses from DNP 8797 to DNP 8799, with pairing in late May during DNP 8796 for most students and a smaller cohort starting in August. Post-Master's DNP students follow the same residency pattern, so the same planning applies to them.
A service built for JSU looks past the first semester. Preceptors change jobs, practices reorganize and schedules shift. The best service stays reachable for the whole semester and starts a replacement search at once when a preceptor steps away, with a new clearance file prepared to the same standard. Should a placement service contact sites before my JSU malpractice coverage is approved?
No. JSU's graduate handbook wants the malpractice policy students buy from its School of Nursing cleared in CastleBranch before a single clinical site hears from them. A service that respects JSU's process asks to see that clearance first, and we confirm it with you before our first outreach.
Does a placement service replace JSU's approval?
No. JSU's faculty clear every preceptor and site, whoever found them. A service's value lies in finding a clinician who fits and presenting a complete, accurate file so the review goes smoothly. Your course faculty remain the final word on whether a placement meets the course.
Can one service handle my NP practicums and my DNP residency?
Yes. Four NP practicums fill four straight semesters before the residency block begins, so planning them together lets your advisor look ahead to the preceptor you will need next. A DNP residency calls for a longer commitment than a single practicum, and the search changes to match it.
What should a service know about the AGACNP track?
That its practicums are acute care placements with their own hour counts. The 2026-27 catalog gives ANP 7873 210 hours, ANP 7875 250 and ANP 7877 280. Is a placement service worth it if I already have contacts?
