JSU nursing, state by state
For JSU's nurse practitioner tracks, geography comes first: JSU takes applicants from five states. Alabama leads this site, followed by Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee, then the other 45 states, where JSU's MSN and Post-Master's DNP may still be options.

The five-state rule and JSU's disclosure
The BSN-DNP nurse practitioner tracks are closed to anyone living outside that five-state group. Its professional licensure disclosure for those tracks, dated 2021, answers yes for Alabama and marks every other state as not yet determined.

Can I apply to JSU's FNP track from outside Alabama?
Yes, if you live in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi or Tennessee. Outside those four and Alabama, the FNP track is closed to applicants.
What does 'not yet determined' mean on JSU's disclosure?
When JSU issued the disclosure in 2021, it had not yet worked out whether its NP curriculum satisfies that state's education rules for licensure. The disclosure guide explains how to check.
